First Friday Silent Disco Party!

When: First Friday of each month | 6pm-8pm

Where: Max Higbee Center

Free - All Ages - All Abilities

Max Higbee Center has a long and lovely history of participating in the city's monthly "Art Walk" event. Members have made, showcased, and sold countless beautiful works of art here at the center over the years. This tradition has been the source of so much creative expression and community connection and that is to be enthusiastically recognized and celebrated! Thank you to all the members who have contributed to making these art sale showcases so vibrant and distinctive! And thank you to everyone in our community who visited us during the “Art Walk" with an open mind and an open heart. We've welcomed countless guests into our center to learn about us and our awesome recreation programs -- sharing smiles, friendship, and fun in that wonderful way that we do!

But after COVID and in response to the city's shift away from a gallery-centric "Art Walk" to a broader-scope "First Friday" monthly event, we are taking a break from selling art and are hosting silent disco dance parties! These are free, all-ages, all-abilities headphone dance party events that take place 6-8pm on the first Friday of each month (and there will still be outings to check out the other First Friday offerings of other community organizations during this time, too)!

For members with art previously included on the "Art Walk" sale tables, please feel free to peruse the tubs and pick up your pieces no later than April 30th. Art not picked up by the end of this month will be donated.

Thank you for your flexibility and understanding around this shift in how we host First Fridays at MHC. And perhaps we can incorporate art selling into future First Fridays or even develop a separate art sale event in the future! You may contact Community Outreach Coordinator Dana Carr with any questions, concerns, ideas, or inquiries at 360-398-6550 or dana@maxhigbeecenter.org
